Hey all. I need a discussion forum for my site.
I want to improve my page and I figured this would be the best place to start some discussion on the subject of old sound card emulation. I'm not happy with the quality of the soundfont I made as the container format is inadequate and not able to produce the full range of tones possible (afaik) without blowing up to an unmanageable size. I think it might be possible to make some oscillators and then tweak them with the effects to do something better (breadrack made an amazing unreleased soundfont doing something like that), but since I just started seriously researching this stuff a couple of months ago I'm not as familiar with FM synthesis as most of the gurus that regularly post here.
Getting down to why I posted this message;Zinger would you or Janoch be willing to make a board in the FM Synths section titled Emulation for me to post some topics about some unfinished sections of my page. I've posted it on several message boards to answer a few unaswered questions on the subject and have encountered a few responses that asked if I could expand certain sections (and an amazing number of people have downloaded the few resources I've been hosting for a few weeks). I've run out of search engine queries to find the knowledge to fill said requests, but many of the interested forum goers do have some knowledge of the subject.

Can I use this site as a discussion forum to find out more about the hardware I'm trying to emulate and make a link to it in the header of my page?
I don't want to just make 15 topics in synth development because a few of the topics would be OT to that section.
Also would some of the related stuff like MT-32, AWE, SID, SCC, additive/subtractive synth and other chiptune stuff be too off topic here?
This forum has helped me a lot, and will continue to be the best resource on my quest. Hopefully I can get some more experienced people discussing my new favorite obsession.

You could make a "General FM chip emulation thread" or similar in the development section, and then another one ("General synth chip emulation thread"?) in the unrelated audio section. Let's see how that works out.
